Yesterday we had a visit from Magic Mike who is a magician. He showed all these cool tricks. My favourite trick was one where he took the dove out of the painting. Today we did a writing activity and you had to chose three writing methods to persuade. I chose Groups of three, Alliteration and Repetition. Here is my work:

TITLE: Give up the rubbish!
Name: Abby Creighton 😛
Introduction/Belief statement:
Have you ever wondered why you have so much plastic rubbish in your lunch? People started wrapping and using plastic in 1907. The Belgian inventor Leo Baekeland was the person that invented plastic.
I believe you should stop buying and putting this rubbish in your lunch.
My reasons are as follows:
|
Reason 1: Firstly, When you drop it out of your car or it falls out of your pockets it blows around and falls down the drains. When it falls down the drains the rubbish could block the drains and cause a flood. And one day the rubbish will go all the way down the drains and make its way to the sea.
|
Reason 2: Secondly, When you put it in the landfill bin it gets buried underground. It takes more than 100 years even 1000 years to break down so it will make our planet durty.(drop a piece of rubbish). In the super margets and the toy stores they use a lot of plastics bags. Supermarkets like Countdown and New World are going to stop using plastic bags and are promoting reusable shopping bags.
|
Reason 3: Lastly, When it gets in to the sea it will kill sea animals such as Turtles, Sea lions and much, much more. If your rubbish floats to the surface of the water a bird could also eat it thinking it is a fish, so even land animals can die from your rubbish.
|
Conclusion: So, I am sure you will agree that you should not have any rubbish in your lunchbox because One, It blows down the drains, Two, Landfill doesn’t break down for a 1000 years and three plastic kills sea and land animals. There are many reusable containers and wraps you could have in your lunch to cut down the plastic. Come on people give up the rubbish!

Mathletics
Kia Ora bloggers,
Me and my class are having a free trial on an online maths site called Mathletics. Every time I complete a task I get a gold bar. On Mathletics the annoying thing is that when you do not sign out all your gold bars go away and you have to start again, so I have not got many bars. We have been working on Fractions on Mathletics. Here is a screenshot:
